TAMPA, JAN. 2, 2015 – Soccer standout Demi Stokes is headed to the pros after capping off a stellar collegiate career with the Bulls.
The England women’s national team member has signed a three-year deal with Manchester City after playing four seasons at USF.
“It feels great to be here,” Stokes said in a Manchester City release. “It sounds very cliché but it’s a dream come true to go professional. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and to do it with a club like City is really exciting.”
Stokes, a second-team all-conference selection this past season, ranks sixth in USF history with 17 career goals after putting four in the back of the net in 2014. Stokes also ranks sixth in the program’s record books with 48 points after helping the Bulls book a trip to the NCAA tournament in 2014. Stokes also performed well in the classroom and was a part of USF’s December graduation class….
