BEAUFORT, S.C. (Women’s Soccer) – The Florida Tech offense introduced itself to South Carolina-Beaufort quite frequently on Thursday, except that its first impression likely didn’t bode well with the Sand Sharks. Keyed by Aubri Williamson’s hat trick and two more scores from Keira McCarthy, the Panthers outshot the home team by a whopping 34-3 margin on their way to an imposing 8-0 shutout win.

“We were very fortunate to put eight goals on a team in a match away from home,” said head coach Dustin Smith. “USC-Beaufort is a solid team with some good athletes that we happened to catch in the perfect storm today.”

The matchup appeared favorable for Florida Tech from the opening kickoff, as the Panthers pelted a pair of shots on goal in just the first one minute and 14 seconds. Oozing confidence, Florida Tech pressed up and seemingly fired away at will from that point forward.

After replacing Ali Tebo early in the first half, freshman Lina Sundelin slipped through the Sand Shark defense and beat the keeper for her first career goal to give Florida Tech the quick lead.

A fine pass by Lauren Bolhuis would set up Williamson in the 29th minute, as the Panthers increased their advantage on a goal that snuck inside the right post.  …
